There is this pedigree chart for mitochondrial disease of optic atrophy with all females affected and thier offsprings and under the IV generation, 8 (Female), 9 (M) and 10 (F) are affected. The q asks, assuming the family history and past medical history of the partner to be unemarkable, the risk of getting optic atrophy in th emale child of IV-9 is:

1) 0%
2) 25%
3) 50%
4) 75%
5)100%

The answer key says 5) 100%...........I think its 1) 0%....sibings of males are NOT affected in mitochondrial diseases.

Any help?
