1.Those who are going to take test in a month or 2 and interested in first aid reveiw are welcome.
2.Post 5 topics from 5 subjects, or according to usmle distribution(more pathology and pharma).
3.Questions shoule be 1/2 liner and only from FA.(refer topic, subject, page number and edition of first aid)
4.The one who post dont have to answer.
5.Those who answer can open first aid or answer without opening first aid and answer should be bried too(to avoid time waste in typing).
6.If you can come up with a different question from same topic, go ahead, if there is no scope of a different question, post 5 more from different topic.(again, refer, subject, page number and edition of FA)
7. Provide adequate gap to make it easier to read.

12. anti single strained DNA... SLE drug induced. (I thing is the same Anti Histone)
7. anti ribonucleprotein Ab is 95% Dx for mixed connective tissue disease.
****SLE: Anti Smith... >specific. but not prognosis.
ANAs...........sensitive but not specific.
Anti double strained DNA....very specific and poor prognosis. |

Buerger's disease: vasculitis, other name is thrombangitis obliterans, intermittent claudication, gangrene

about Q#2: orphan drug is a drug developed for treatment of very rare disease, prevalence<200.000. Companies taht work on the development of these drugs recieve spacial beneficts from gov and federal founds.
example: MESNA...... Tx of bladder toxicity (hemorrhagic cystitis) caused by ciclophosphamide. First Aid page 309 - 2006 |

1.imipramine--Tri-C----- convulsions ,coma ,cardiotoxicity&resp.depression.
2.fluphenazine .---EPS side effects ,sedation,tardive diskinesia,neuroloeptic malignant syndrome .
3.thiazides
(frusemide cant be given as it is a sulfonamide )
4.torsades poitis ,excessive beta block.
5.clozapine ,carbamazepine ,colchicine |

but i think ethacryanic acid and mannitol only free of sulfa allergy,
in first aid, it says, thiazide causes sulfa allergy, so does, acetazolamide and frusemide. |
