  1.Those who are going to take test in a month or 2 and interested in first aid reveiw are welcome.

2.Post 5 topics from 5 subjects, or according to usmle distribution(more pathology and pharma).

3.Questions shoule be 1/2 liner and only from FA.(refer topic, subject, page number and edition of first aid)

4.The one who post dont have to answer.

5.Those who answer can open first aid or answer without opening first aid and answer should be bried too(to avoid time waste in typing).

6.If you can come up with a different question from same topic, go ahead, if there is no scope of a different question, post 5 more from different topic.(again, refer, subject, page number and edition of FA)

7. Provide adequate gap to make it easier to read.

So, are you interested? I will post one now. I will be away for a wihle.

2. what are the side effects of vincristine? Neurotoxicity, Paralytic ileus

3.uses of misoprostol? A PGE1 analog

4. what are the product of lipoxygenase pathway? luekotrienes

5.uses of amantadine? Parkinson's desaese, Prophylaxis for influenza A.

6. uses of acyclovir? MOA ? toxicity?

3. yes, its PGE1 analog and uses of misoprostol: prevention of NSAID induced peptic uldcers, maintain PDA, also used to induce labor.
i think every antiviral is very important.
6.acyclovir:
uses: HSV, VZV, EBV.
MOA: inhibit DNA synthesis(DNA polymerase)
toxicity: delirium, tremor, nephrotoxicity

another point about herpes, its lesion has dermatomal distribution

HSV-1 latent in trigeminal root ganglia
HSV-2: latent in sacral ganglia

  1. where do we find schistocyte, and helmet cell? Microangiopathic anemia. Intravascular hemolysis seen in DIC, TTP/HUS, SLE, or malignant hypertension.

2. which drugs are used to decrease preload in angina and which increases afterload in angina? nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, NITRATES // B-bloqueadores

3.what are the side effects of glyburide? Hypoglycemia

4.what is the MOA of cyclosporin? Binds to cyclophilins, blocking the differentiation and activation of T cells mainly by inhibiting the production of IL-2 and its receptor.

5.MOA of tacrolimus? Binds to FK-binding protein, inhibiting secretion of IL-2 and other cytokines. similar to cyclosporin.

6. what causes bronchiolitis in babies? Haemophilus influenzae???

2. nitrates decrese preload and beta blockers increase afterload and beta blockers also decrease contractility.
6. it was RSV, H influenzae causes epiglottitis, pneomonia,i will check if it causes bronchiolitis or not.
i will post questions later.
