Large volume paracentesis ---> decrease effective blood volume, decrease more serum albumin due to reestablished the ascites---> decrease renal blood perfusion --> increase risk of hepatorenal syndrome. Decrease renal function can lead to increase of NH3 and others intermediates ---> risk of hepatic encephalopathy |
