Hi all,thanks for all your responses,i helped me alot..I`m doing alot of clinical research right now,I`m published 2 papers and working on another two,hoping to be done,I totally agree clinical research is faster than basic ones,my mentor is so active too so we are making good team together..
Glad to hear that there few FMG get accepted,I already finished my residency back in my country then relocated here.
Really feeling sad about the American girl who committed suicide..really bad!!

Maliy 30, you seem to be doing the right things, and keep making the effort, dont slack off. Ophtho applications are due in september 1st week with the SFmatch. I applied in the 2nd week of august and made the first batch of applications... Apply early. Also, 3 letters are the limit for the SF Match, but I separately posted 2 more to all programs. Make ur CV look good, as I know 4 IMGs who have done ophthal back home, and not matched here... |

I'll add these two and they're from my school (AUC): one is in Case Western Reserve University, the other in Wayne State University (just granted the Flo Dickey Funk Research Fellowship in opthalmology at Mason Eye Institute at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
AUC is American University of the Caribbean in St. Martin. A great place. |

Maliy30, I matched in radiology(diagnostic)....I won't tell you where and when but it's a university program...a pretty good one at that. My USMLEs for both 1 and 2 were over 200 (210, 220)and no failures. CS was a one shot deal as well. I applied to 30 radiology programs, got invited for interviews at 26 programs but I only went to 15 (It got very expensive flying all over). Yes, I am a caribbean grad. And yes, I got my #1 choice with no connection and no prematch offers (this one wasn't offering any prematches). |
