maliy30, apply to ALL programs.. dont look for selected programs. I applied to 115 programs in ophtho, got 13 interviews (I am yet to meet someone who had more), and it was the best decision I made. My scores were decent- 250 and 240, cs pass, 1st attempt.. I would say apply extensively, and hope for the best... u never know who will be interested in ur CV. Maximize the odds by applying everywhere... Its ur future after all!! |

opunjabi and derm,
I am just about to interview for an entry level research position in IM.I am a fresh grad from India and have no research experience as such but have been following journals online.
Can you please tell me -
1. What is the right way to approach this field? What is expected of me and what materials should I consult to prepare myself and get some guidance before I join this job?
2. Can I get published if I am not in a phD program or on the payrolls of a university? Which journals are better receptive ?
Your help would be much appraciated. |
