This guy is like everyone else trying to stick their hands in the pockets of IMGs.

His story:
He was all over this forum, prep-4-usmle and SDN during the last match.
He made many claims about:
...the amount of USCE he had
...the large number of interviews that he received
...how much money he had and therefore could afford to attend 42???? interviews all over the country.

This guy mention dozens of times that he was from a wealthy family and could afford to take 5 months to attend these interviews, including the air fare and hotel rooms, yet soon after the match he started to advertise for folks to pay him $15-20 for his list and has added $15-20 for telling you what to wear at an interview.

It was all hogwash! All propaganda.
It was all part of a well scripted fantasy to form the basis for starting his Blogspot to earn money.

Is there anyone here stupid enough to believe that a person with as much USCE as he claimed to have and with that many interviews would match at number 21 on his rank list??????
He didn't match anywhere, because he was writing his script for the next rip-off of IMGs.

I matched at Jefferson, IN PSYCH!!!!!
I had USCE, but not in psychiatry and I matched and he supposedly match at #21 in KC?? What a joke!

All the info that he claims he got from interviews is on SDN.
The AMGs review just about every program.
It's there to learn from, but this pig decides to turn it into the latest money-making scheme.

Psychguru, you are the scum of the earth.

i said i would give him a phone consult for a fee. i should give out phone consults for free?? of course i would give him a money back guarrantee as well. a lot of imgs get ripped off by hundreds for other services. i am charging the equivalent of a pitcher of beer.

i dont think of myself as an expert. however by going on forums and talking to other imgs, i see the mistakes they are making.

you might have bought first aid for the match. how about kaplan? are they evil as well?

yes i do plug my blog. do u expect me retype everything over and over again when i can answer someone's question with a link.

my blog is for free. if someone wants more that the blog there is nothing wrong with charging someone for my time. u will undoubtedly charge someone for having a mental illness. are u not preying one someone else's suffering?

the psych equivalent of what i am doing is the blog is a free check up clinic. if someone wants extra psychoanalysis is it wrong to ask for $?

i still dont see why i should call up strangers for free and help them out. i feel i have done enough for them with my free blog.

you are a hypocrite unless you donate all your earnings and provide free treatment.

To see peer to peer assistance as a way to earn $$$ is low... but to call a fellow doctor a whore is as low...

Both of you should shut up!!!

anyhow i am done with this debate. since it is so unpopular i think i will not provide any phone consults but just keep my blog which is free for all.

Guys, please don't bite my head off, it's just my opinion that if somebody is ready to pay for the service,it's okay to charge for the service. If psychguru helps someone find a residency, it's worth it. I, myself, received help this year for very reasonable fee. I found the residency and I believe that my money was spent wisely. I didn't regret it for a second.

i would leave the trust issue to individuals.... in my view as compared to the matched people (including me...) we some how tend to forget the anxiety and frustration of the whole match process... last year around this time i would have also paid to have soem kind of information regarding externships and other related USCE'S...

if psyguru is making money from his blogs good for him... if he is fooling people that bad for him.... if i see anybody being given wrong information about psych res by psyguru till now i would put in my 2 cents..... but oterwise it does not bother me if he is charging 15-20$.

tpoed... congrats on matching.... jefferson is indeed a solid program with a lot of possibilites indeed.... i would havee killed to be there.... relax.... if u indeed want to be altrustic.... be on thsi forum most often and give people some free advise right here....

yesterday i left psyguru and everybody else a message here about creating agroup to prepare for the upcomming psych residency.... what books to read... what articled to be familair with .... in general how to work on the right mindset and approach to excell in the residency.... i am thinking of creating a group in gmail... everybody is invited ... including psych aspirants.... maybe that could be a better option for sharing information....
all your views a welcome.....

4055...do u have an email. i will send u my flight schedule itinerary along with other hard evidence. i have been to 44 interviews. the reason i went to so many is that about 10-15 of them were impossible programs, 15 were mid tier and then i had another 10 low tier safety ones. i could only count on those 10 safety ones. my goal was to match and also give a shot to the top tier ones. i think in retrospect 30 should have been enough. another reason is u dont know how the program or place is until u go there. also my scores were not the best.

to put it another way i was good enuff to get all those interviews yet not good enuff NOT to go to all of them.

well 4055...hook me up with an email address. once i prove you are a farse are u prepared to admit your folly in this forum?

also would like to know the original posters stats. i assume he got around 90 on both steps to get into thomas jefferson.

  Hi psichguru
I am not against to charge someone fro information...it's not illegal, it's not bad, etc. But this forum allows the people give the information for free to help..that's its objective. I'm relatively new in this forum and i see diferent people those who range from completely begginers in this procces and the ones who are USMLE's gurus...and the only common point in everybody is to help each other w/o any fee..at least in this forum..that is what i understand..
If you wanna do it, just go ahead..but please don't do it through this forum...just ask the people to go to your blog...they are enough grown to make the right decision...What I wanna say is by doing it in this forum..it just doesn't look good..that's it
good luck for everybody
