Okay, I do not post regularly on this forum but having read the stuff posted here over the last few days I thought I'd add my two cents. First of all I think this forum is full of a bunch of Hippocrates. I read the post by iv asking for money to cancel his interviews.....I think his post was one of the funniest ones I read and was meant to be a bit of a joke. But the way people on this forum attacked him calling him a "disgrace to the profession" and even going on to call his mother a donkey ... I think you people who are attacking him with words like that are a bigger disgrace to the profession for using words like that. If you cannot hold yourself from reacting with such harsh words just because you are in a little bit of stress you guys don't deserve to be doctors..... I mean you will be in bigger stress when you have someones life in your hands.......IV might hurt someone because of his poor ethics (and thats considering he was being serious) You guys on the other hand are going to be killing your patients just by being yourselves.
Who made all you guys the moral judge of character to tell someone to stop being a doctor. You guys are okay with getting pirated version of Kaplan Notes and NBME's, but someone even makes a little joke about asking for money to cancel his interviews you all freaking burst an aneurysm.
No one on this freaking forum can answer someone else's question without asking for their credentials.....how is it any of yours business ?? Its surprising to see how you all think its somehow your god given right to come and practice in the US.. Since most of you guys are from India let me tell you one thing about India fellows....the Indian Medical Council does not even recognize any medical school outside of India .... so good luck for trying to practice in India if you go to a med school outside of India.
So before you guys go around telling other people what to do and what not to do ... might want to look at your self and get your own moral bearing straight. |

I still think that post was meant to be a joke .. even lets say for a moment that it wasn't ... did it deserve the response that people on this board gave it ..... I mean it was appalling to hear the stuff people were responding with .. and that was not just with iv's post !!
Read all my posts in this thread it self ... I have not called anyone any names in any of my post .... well other than calling people hypocritic but just look at the responses.....luckydonkey et al have called me retarded and luckytouchwood is calling me a pimp for supporting vi's "prostitution" !! I mean come on guys ... don't have to stoop to such low levels !!
As for me being emotional about the issue ... well this particular event was just but one in a long series of things I have seen/heard. I just decided to speak up right now.
With regards to my attitude towards Indian ... like I said to someone in an earlier post ... this was not meant to be directed towards any particular ethnic group .. the only reason I mentioned the Indians was being an Indian myself I can speak out without being called a racist .... everyone is equally guilty though !! |

I seriously doubt your intelligence here Dr. Honestly the way u r defending this guy makes me think that u r the same guy trying to sell your stuff with another name.:)You said I should look at the classified section...Well according to my beliefs,morality comes within.I donot have to look around to decide what I should do and what not.To me my morals are high enough to differentiate between a person who sells used books and actually delivers it too as promised VS a guy who doesnot know a squat as what he is talking about,as if he owns the program,actually telling people to buy his interviews????I mean give me a break here.I have enough exposure to the system now and I know what he is trying to do.I am just warning people to keep their eyes open and donot give any money to such losers who actually pretend to be selling interviews...This is not asia where u can buy degrees.We need to change this attitude and perception that this happens here as well.People have worked really hard to get here.I am honestly hearing this for the first time"buy interviews"...this is the reason why these americans laugh at us and good programs are scared of us.It is not bcz we are smelly or we r dark skinned or we cant speak english...but bcz we are crooks and we try to be over smart. |

luckytouchwood.....there is now way for me to convince you that I am not the same person so I am not going to even try.
If your intentions are to warn people, well and good .. it can still be done without calling people names and referring to them as son of a donkey or a whore or the other choicest words that people used.
I did not know so am not going to comment on your judgement .... but if you think people in the classified section (and the people who are buying them) are actually dealing in "used books" well then I must say you have a very liberal definition of what used means. Kaplan does not allow its videos to be copied and it definitely does not allow its notes to be scanned onto DVDs .... they are NOT just selling "used notes" as you so eloquently put it. |

then u should go and inform kaplan..Honestly Dr. that is your moral duty.I wont do it bcz I see it as a helping gesture.Kaplan is a big company earning 100 of thousands of dollars and I am really not concerned if such a big company loses a few bucks.But if some poor guy loses 15 dollars when he has already spent 1000s of dollars for the usmle, it bothers me a lot.People work really really hard to get here.And this might be very "so what" for many born with fortunes and golden spoons in their mouths but for others it is a harsh reality.So I am sorry for not being sorry for kaplan and being sorry for an aspiring doctor.I will report a scam rather than a pirated book that is helping someone.The motive is HELP not business. |

luckydonkey has very few interviews and he will do anything to stop me from helping others so that the interviews will go his way. So he can call me whatever he wants to call me. i don't mind. i can understand his frustration. |

okie dokie....I had to spend an hour which I did.Interesting topic.I am hipocrit and I am proud of it.Good for my patients,my friends and the people around me.Atleast I am not cracking jokes and doing fraud.:)long live hipocrits.We need more hipocrits to make good doctors.We donot need wanna be jokers in this profession.bbye |

well well.......just came across this. Pretty surprised to see we have a bunch of hippocrates here...silly me i thought there was only one hippocrates & is long gone....remember?.....the father of medicine...........Forum members i'm glad to be associated with these 'bunch of hippocrates'..................................at least we have no HYPOCRITES |
