Hi!
I studied for 4-5 mnths--well I guess NOT HARD ENOUGH...today got the results---failed by 1 point--74...I am confused...yet more frustrated! Will not apply for match this year...another year wasted....regards |

Hi!
I studied for 4-5 mnths, USMLEWORLD score was 60%. Did not do NBME. Few my CCS cases were not from USMLEWORLD or USMLE STEPS 123...
As per norm, the questions are LONG! You either know them or not and the answers are all if not closely related...Don't waste your time thinking you will comeback to revise...
I think I will do Kplan Qbank also this time...
Today I am in such a shock....my brain is racing with thoughts, confusion, agitation, and anger, and rage....anyhow, I have decided to bite the bullet and will again give this exam in January.
The way I see it that this is an imperfect world--ppl pass and fail, and I guess I have been destined to be the amongst the failures....like someone said earlier in another post---66 or 74--fail is a fail...

sorry man. iam also in the same boat.failed with 183(74)last december.. again prepared from jan with swanson's twice and uw twice and still scored 350 on nbme,i have one more month so i started step2 notes of kaplan. i'll just do ccs from usmle123 and give exam,idunno what else to do. |

Hi!
My exam was on July 2,3. My MCQs were ok---but were long...my CCS a few were out of the usmleword and 1st Aid and usmle123...I also combined step 2 CK review material...thank you ppl for taking the time to write...regards... |

why do you want to wait till jan. And why you don't want to apply for the match? I just failed with the same score and planning to take it in october. I was thinking not to apply for the match, but i dont think that is a good idea. reapply for the test and put in your application WILL TAKE.

I failed match last year. programs apearently wanted my step3 score, as I am old graduateb and my step 2 score wasn't excellent. If I failed step3, it would put me in a worse position then last year. So If I failed ,I wouldn't wast money to apply.
But everybody has different situation |

stay away from kaplan materials, as far away as you can possibly get, other than the Qbook for step 3 ,also the step 2 ck notes when accompanied by audios are good. but for Gods sake stay away from step 3 kaplan qbank or step 3 live lecture notes or even notes, tons of mistakes try Premier Review, its good to consolidate info, but the basics are in Step 2 ck kaplan notes with audios, and USMLE World mcqs. |
