I saw lots of 99 for step 1 & 2
But for step 3 lots of people failed.
Did people fail because of overconfidence or the exam is really very hard?
I am so worried, my exam is in 3 weeks. my NBME is 450 but I have not read any materials for step 3 except UW qbank and Swanson's |

I never prepared for this exam and just gave it after practicing CCS, cleared it first time with score of 83. U should be fine with a score of 450 in NBME provided ur ccs is reasonable. |

Hi robbin
i just took step 3. i did pretty well in mcqs but my ccs went terrible. i just didnt know what went wrong. i made many mistakes in ccs.i got 450 nbme and studied UW, swanson and first aid. try to practice ccs as much as u can . I think that will make difference for me .

Do we need to pass ccs and mcqs separately or combined?

deardoc98 I dont know answer to ur question since I did not stress on this point at all. I even did not know that how many question blocks were there and what was the total time, I asked the person conducting the test what was the duration of the test and she gave me such an amused look. |

450 is really pretty good on nbme test for step 3. People read Kaplan notes and then fail, it is not fair, that they charge money and provide such worthless material. Conrad Fischer is the reason for so many people failing, and he sucks at step 2 ck material teaching also. That virus parasite has infected the step 1 course lately also I have heard. Kaplan will be good when he stops teaching. |

Dr. Fisher is the best in my opinion, the problem with Kaplan that there are other, very boring lecturers in different topics, if all of them would be covered by Dr. Fisher alone it would be thse best! And no, I am not Dr. Fisher, I wish I would be as knowledgable as he is... The material that he givesin step 2 CK lectures is important. |

yup, I agree his step 2 ck knowledge is ok at times, but overall he doesnt teach NEARLY in enough depth or detail that is required for USMLE step 3. It is just not enough, his jokes and humor, it doesnt help to solve questions on the USMLE. |
