Dear everyone
I was here since this time of the year last year for all the match, scramble , and postmatch.. and.. it all starts with great expectations.. funny jokes... then tension arises as match gets close and interviews go on.. then dreadful useless scrambles kick in .. and then postmatch season. My scores are not high to say the least, with attempts on step1, old grad over 5 years and well.. I guess things on my favor would be some clinical experience... and postive attitude.. Some might remember me from last year..
AND NEVER EVER GIVE UP... But yes do the right thing.. if something is not working change aproach totally..
Above all... Keep your fait.. PRAY PRAY PRAY.. WITH FAITH... I think this is how I got into residency. Somethings.. no matter how good you are.. it's God given.. I believe Residency can be one of those. I"m in a good program where I know people that did observerships, externships, and way much younger with better scores and recomendations did not get in... all I can say.. it is God given. so yes.. use that secret weapon.. PRAY.
I wish you the best to all of you this year. |

Hi chromosmy
I come in here since it's been a habit since last year, plus it has helped me to whine off my days since it's rather stressful all this PGY1 business. Anyhow, all is in orientation right now, and not really that crazily busy but everyone trying to show their best at this moment and doing all the pre requisits.. PALS, ACLS etc.
As far as giving out my e-mail it's going to be complicated to do that because of time. I like to spend time here in the forum and you could just ask questions here, if it is something I can help by giving some advise, I rather just post it here. I'm sure others might benefit too. |

Hi nicelife
like I said before, I can not individually begin to e-mail you guys since I don't have much time to do that. Whatever questions you have just post them here and if I can help I'll post my opinion here, and it will also help others. |

Hi sad123
If they have a criteria and you don't match that criteria I would avoid it then, but if you think other things may count then call them and ask. What specialty are you seaking?? you are above 80 so don't lose your hope, I asume you have excellent PS and LOR. Polish your Interview very well... if you don't have the usmle component strong then.. you have to rely on the rest to make your application look good. I think you have a good chance for IM/FP
good luck
