is there any difference with FUO (fever of unknown origin)?.

  nope, after looking it up, what i think is:
Occult Bacteremia is one cause of 'fever without a focus' aka 'fever without source' (FWS)....(after all, think.... cant other inflammatory disorders, undiagnosed meningitis, UTI, cancers be a cuase of a fever without an obvious source, plus they've given u a list of scenarios is Kaplan where the cause of FWS is more LIKELY to be due to OBacteremia, eg. - age

:/ my whole msg not loading.

FUO is only labelled as such when u can see no cause for the fever after 3 weeks of extensive outpatient workup or 1 week of in-hospitak workup.

There are many ways to learn but if you discuss a topic with someone, you will always remember.
It is a good IDEA to have a SP.

In order to post in this forum try to avoid symbols and use instead eg. - age less than 36 months not age < 36 months.
