Hi guys, i did step one about a week ago, questions were really long, much much longer than UW definitely. in 70 percent ofthe questions, i could only read the last two lines, and answer ... i hope the result will be good and hand is on heart.

I want to start preparing for CK, can you please tell me what is the consensus on the material to study to get 99 ............. thank you so much for your time.

hey somebody: i guess you should start with Kaplan notes and the IM videos. after that UW,+/- Kap QBank. +/- Master the Boards + Emedicine.com...

ask the pros though, i'm also new around here, and all the best for ur result :)

Hi Iqbalian01, I did not go through all nbmes at all. the ones i did (all in all) are NBME3,5,67
I strongly strongly strongly suggest that you go through First Aid really well during the last few weeks, not a page more than FA, and in addition, solve UW blocks (even ones you did before) to keep pace with reading fast ... most of my exam questions were really really long. in fact, i could only read the last two lines and jump to the options. my step 1 opinion is: kaplan videos with lecture notes initially, then add whats important on FA and stick to FA alone.

Samomcos, what is master the boards?!?! i never heard of it. loool

almost hundred CKers read my post, and no one tried to explain to us the consensus of the studying plan ........ pathetic looool

beleive it or not, i did not study goljan, i only listened once to the tapes, and read BRS pathology one time only. i was kinda strong in pathology and internal medicine during med school, so i didnt feel the urge to go through goljan. this is NOT my advice, definitely go through goljan once systematically during the normal reading, but not in the last weeks in my opinion, fa is the kind during that time.

You really did not read 70 % of questions, why ? It was so easy or you just thought you knew the answer from it, or it is just it took you so long to decide ? It is hard to believe sorry...
Master the boards is book by Dr.Conrad Fisher.

hey somebody, I did not answer because I agree with samomcos, however UW qbank is the key to success in step2.

Good luck and keep in touch.

  hi my friends,

regarding not reading the questions (the whole stem of the question): this was because of the extreme length of the questions, they write a very very long story, and then you discover in the last lines that all that wasnt necessary. .... now, what i am afraid of, is that tricks might have been used in the stem, and me not reading it made me lose the questions ...... i am so nervous as the score will get out next wednesday.

i am more than happy to help any friend in any question.

i also heard that we should study ob gyn from high yield and not kaplan, and internal medicine from books called med study
