-want neurology only. and applied to both categorial, and advanced with prelim med offcourse.
-grad 2006.
-usmle 84 1st attempt/93 1st attempt/ck passed 4th attempt.
-no usce. needs visa
-awaiting step 3 results. (not expecting a good score, probable failure)
-currently neuro resident in home country.
-and I want university hospital.
I'm freaking out , frustrated, didn't receive any rejections or IVs. Is it a good sign or not? and what are my chances?

The cs fourth attempt might make you automatically filtered from most programs. I have a couple of friends applying on northeast with mid 90s, step 1 and step 2 and 1 year research experience, pass cs first attempt. St.George Caribbean grad. But good luck. Competition is very fierce this year!!

attempts don't get you filtered...computer program looks at the last score for each exam and filter you based on that score....
but I am sure they will question the 4!? attempts in CS when they see your USMLE transcript...I think most program allow up to 2, maybe 3....first time you learn your lesson and second time you knock it....
they might still wanna see you if they like your CV, PS, and LOR's....G.L...you should still apply to some other programs as well...but It seems like u just want neuro...Did u call the programs that you applied about this, and see if they are ok with it?

marco20 are you an applicant or a resident? I am speaking from experience. But maybe you have had another experience. Moreover, programs may differ. Good luck

  thanks a lot..
i don't have a reason for my cs attempts.. i thought i was not lucky ,, everyone has his own weakness
but marco.. why would the filter be based on the last exam you took,, i don't understand the reason behind this?
anyways,, thanks for support,, i will update if anything happens..

Failure in CS once is devastating let alone 4th. I got double 99s last year and 2 attempts in CS. Just 1 IV from inside connection. 4th attempt? Unbelievable. U need to do something to offset it. But according to my estimate, you could get no more than 2 IVs this year. Anyway, best luck to you.
