It depends, you have to check the requirements of each program. If it says "you have to apply within 5 years of graduation" you are fine, but few programs say "you have to be within 5 years of graduation at the time you start residency", so you will be out.

One more question ragrgding this issue, I read that the ECFMG status report has our year of graduation in it, so all programs see that. Is that right ? If so, How can we know which year exactly they wrote ? because in my country for example there is the year we finish med school, year degree is issued and year we actually receive the degree after the internship. I just hope the one I wrote in my CAF matches that on the ECFMG status report. I don't want to look like a liar !

sorry about the confusion, you are 2006, so you are within 5 years either way :)

I still want someone to answer my question. Thanks

ecfmg will write the date tht is given in ur degree cert..thts ur graduation date....when we have a ceremony we get our degree then and there, but if we skip tht then u may get it by post or university sends tht to ur medical school....
so if u got ur degree late in ur hands doesnt mean thts ur graduation date....hope this helps...good luck
