It depends, you have to check the requirements of each program. If it says "you have to apply within 5 years of graduation" you are fine, but few programs say "you have to be within 5 years of graduation at the time you start residency", so you will be out.
One more question ragrgding this issue, I read that the ECFMG status report has our year of graduation in it, so all programs see that. Is that right ? If so, How can we know which year exactly they wrote ? because in my country for example there is the year we finish med school, year degree is issued and year we actually receive the degree after the internship. I just hope the one I wrote in my CAF matches that on the ECFMG status report. I don't want to look like a liar ! |

ecfmg will write the date tht is given in ur degree cert..thts ur graduation date....when we have a ceremony we get our degree then and there,but if we skip tht then u may get it by post or university sends tht to ur medical school....
so if u got ur degree late in ur hands doesnt mean thts ur graduation date....hope this helps...good luck |

thnx FEXO..... yeah i thought so too ...i was just confused about the 2011 programm thing ....
actually when we initially submitted the paper work before step1
the college transcript has the degree issue date ...that's the one that counts...
