	with abdo Xray showing dialated colon with multiple air fluid level, BP 100/70, pulse 105/min, dry mucosa, temp 100 F. next step? 1. Surgical consult 2. Rectal salphasalazine 3. Iv Corticosteroids 4. urgent abdo CT.

	dialated colon with multiple air fluid level ---- is a finding of obs or subacute obs. we need to know total phyical finding of abdomen

	toxic megacolon is common in UC or CD? i can't remember.

	UC exacerbation + this finding on Abdo xray ---> toxic megacolon ----> first step is IV fluid, IV steroids, IV antibiotics, nasogastric suction ----> if do not respond in 48 hr ----> surgical consult.
