I am an old grad from India, passed out MBBS in 1996, no post grad done, was into private practice and did well. recently got greencard and moved to US. Is it worth is it giving a shot to USMLE, I mean will I be able to secure residency or am I planning to waste time even studying for the exams.
any views appreciated.

thanks for the reply, I have some very good recommendations from batchmates who r successful physicians and surgeons here in US, does it seem practical to aim for a surgical field. I am being advised that it might be a good shot as the number of seats being filled are less every year, especially with obamacare, future is only bleaker.
