My Creds 89/85 CS First Attempt. 1 year USCE, 2008 Grad, Greencard
This was my 4th Match Season. Every year, I lost Hope for my career after match Day for a few days. However I forgot what happened a week after the match day and was positive about next year. THis happened for 3 long years.
I advice everyone who didn't match , just be positive and you will definitely match one day.
I wanted to do Neurology, so I only applied Neurology for 2008 and 2009 Match.
then in 2010 match I applied Neurology and IM, but still I didn't Match.
I was Broken Financially and Emotionally. for 2011 applied only to IM and I Match
So to all the Apllicants I would suggest It doesn't matter what your interest is, It is important to get any spot even if you get FM, PSYCh or OBGyn, just take it
I have two friends who got scramble into Prelim surgery and then next year got into OBgyn and Psych respectively. ''
So never lose hope and I want you guys to stay poisitive and stay Calm for Scamble
and apply 15 FM positions and 15 Prelim Surgery positions for Scramble on the first day and
eventually one day each of you will get matched. Good luck to all |

Be positive for the Scramble guys. Also There is always a chance of finding an out of match position.
even if nothing happens this year there is always another match season to try.
Seriously, I used to be one of the best student in my Medical College and still I still took 4 years to get matched.
Never lose hope. Remember, God has always something better in store for you. |

All the same documents as in the original match(application form, USMLE transcripts, PS and LORs) Just print them out from ERAS if you do want to fax, but in my opinion applying through ERAS will suffice. there is a scramble thread on this page, u may want to check it out. |

My Email address is pinkfloydbeatles@hotmail.com
I see someone asking about USCE for next year. its too early to ask about that
Remember you guys need to stay positive for scramble.
there are 45 programs total you can apply through ERAS
on first day of scramble you can apply to 30 programs
2nd day - 10 programs
3rd day - 5 programs
I would advice everyone to apply to 22 FM and 8 Prelim Surgery programs
and next day more programs from these two specialties.
FM and Prelim Surgery are your best chances in scramble, all other specialties are virtually impossible.
Also try calling all the remaining programs but I most of the programs dont take applications outside ERAS for scramble. So no point Faxing the documents and signing up for scramble services as it is a waste of Money.
99% of programs only take applications thru ERAS for Scramble |
