	Hi i am looking forward to get a match this year, this would be my first participation, i have a question since i dont have an AAMC ID number yet, when would be the best time i would ask for my LOR? i have a 3week observership coming up but it would end in the last week of may, should i come back when i get my ID? how should i approach this problem? thank you very much

	sure you can do that in july (i don't think aamc id is the main component of an LOR anyways)

	yeah but in eras it says to include the AAMC ID Number in the body of the letter, dont know if ERAS would accept the letter when i submit it.

	i did not have that in mine last year and i had no probs, but follow what you feel most comfortable with.

	my observership starts in wednesday next week yet, its only 3 weeks though, im not even sure if thats enough time to give for the dr to give me one or to evaluate me, im still hopeful though thanks attempt

	To make it easier you can do the following 1. Get a letter - This way the content and format is DONE 2. Reqeust the writer to reissue the letter once you get the number. You can discuss this with the writer when you perform step 1 above. 3. Most writers are very organized and they keep a folder for you on your computer. This way they can reference interaction in the future.
