  Ophthalmoscopic examination shows a pale and swollen optic disk of the left eye with scattered flame-shaped hemorrhages in the vicinity of the disk. An afferent pupillary defect is present in the left eye. The most likely cause for these findings is:

A - Ischemic optic neuritis
B - Talc embolus due to IV heroin abuse
C - Glioma with papilledema
D - Retinal artery occlusion
E - Diabetic neuropat
