  What should be given to pregnant or children under 8 for tick bite prophylaxis?Thank you for answer in advance.

  amoxicillin. doxycycline is contraindicated.

  No prophylaxis should be given/ absence data (Amoxicillin* starting w/in 72hours tick bite likely be effective even that benefit not been concrete & allergic Rxn amox risk would be greater than Lyme)

Given antibiotic prophylax* not 100% effective to prevent infection

If given*/prophylaxis used in pat, very important you watch the pat/site of bite ( EM rash) -> if occur then innate Rx* -> 2-3 wks.
