Is giving STATIN primary or 2nd prevention to a person with high LDL /cholestrol?

  Depend on what been ask of you on pic/stem that Q ( if you like post the Q)
If heart disease/CVD is 1st leading cause of death in the U.S (cancer 2nd) we could say; in general term, Stat use for the "1ry" Prevention/help of CVD* in adults.

I break it like this-> if pat had MI -> stat would be "2nd prevention" -> place pat low risk (bz pat who have already had the event). However, if pat at “HIGH risk” ( pat who have never had/ but are@ risk for*) MAKE IT to "1ry prevention", you may see some literature; say remains controversial) you can follow USPSTF recommendation if you want.

So, I don’t think they are wrong. Perhaps you miss what UW ask of on that Q.
