Where can we calculate the exact tax deducted from our stipend and the net amount we get in hand?

If you are single and your gross income is $x, your net pament per year wil be ( it's a rough estimation)

10000+75% of (x-10000)

it varies from state to state, the type of benefits(health insurance, parking etc), the actual stipend and what you fill in you w9 form..
bottom line is the high the stipend the more the tax deductions..

just as example: pgy1 in NYC gets an avg of around 57,000 per year..so the avg take home per month is somewhere around 3000 to 3300 ...again you have to consider the above factors..
in midwest and southern programs the stipend is less compared to NYC..

You will probably get around $3,000 to $3,300 if your stipend is around 50-55K.
I used to get $3,000 when my stipend in NYC was $53K.

PG1 in NY is about 60k. Filling single is like 3600/month & 3800 if married...I have no idea what other states pay
