What are the guidelines for USMLE purposes re Investigation and Treatment of UTI in kids?
I recall a UW question, but haven't made adequate notes. Can't find anything on American Academy of Pediatrics or USPSTF websites.
The American academy of paediatrics recommends that all children aged 2 -24 months with a first UTI should undergo VOIDING CYSTOURETHROGRAM(VCUG) or radionuclide cystogram(RNC) to detect the presence of VUR.(UW)
Thanks kiranraja. I'm surprised there are no recommendations beyond this! GL with your exam. Mine is tomorrow.
u can see this in peds in renal and urologic disorder chapter (UTI & UVR)
Good luck, sgarson!
