A 54 yr old type 2 diabetic comes to your clinic for regular checkup. he was dx with DM 2 8 yrs ago apart from diet and Exercise he is on 500mg of metformin twice daily. last
visit showed microalbuminuria on dipstick.
his bp is 130/86
pulse 78. RBS 202mg/dl. HbA1c 7.2

remaining physical is unremarkable exept . some rashes on the lower leg. when asked pt is unawre about them and remeber that he freequently feels pain in the lower extremeties but can,t localize that burning pain.
whats the most appropraite Treatment for peripheral neuropathy In this patient.

Pregabalin is indicated for:

Treatment of neuropathic pain from diabetic neuropathy or post herpetic neuralgia. There is not enough data to state that it should be used in all neuropathic pain.
Adjunctive therapy in adults with partial seizures with or without secondary generalization
Fibromyalgia
Generalized anxiety disorder
