A child presents with acute abdominal pain.What is deficient to cause this pain?
I read this question somewhere now forgot where and answer options.Anyone knows?
Is it related to heme matabolism?
was it AIP.
what AIP stands for?
acute intermittent phorphyria
yeh i think its acute intermittent porphyria,,,heme metabolism disorder.
what is enzyme defected in AIP?
uroporphyrinogen synthase

How will differentiate clinically AIP and Porphria cutanea tarda?means S/S same for both?
clinically they are very different, AIP causes acute abdominal pain and neurologic symptoms like psychosis and dementia, but PCT photosensitive bullous skin lesions, hyperpigmentation, hypertrichosis
