Congratulations on passing step 3 dreamgirl.

No rejections for the last 2 days.

I had an IV at SUNY upstate today. They only have one residency spot left because they have given two spots away through prematch contracts. I was told that this last spot will only be filled through the match. It is a good program. The training is very strong in CP. Most of the residents are FMGs. The weakest parts of the program are the cold weather in Syracuse and the facilities, which aren't great. However, the residents that I met were very happy with the program. Also, residents from there get into top fellowships.

Hi Jok,
I am still waiting for your answer about you experience at UMDNJ Robert Wood . Thanx

Hi Maroc,

You were asking about RWJ:

I think that this is a good program.

The strengths are that that they train their residents very well in both AP and CP and their residents have very good fellowship placement. For example, all 3 of their senior residents this year are going to Memorial Sloan Kettering for SurgPath.

The weaknesses are: 1) Location - The traffic in NJ is awful and the cost of living is very high. 2) There is some ill feeling between residents, and the residents were not as friendly with me as they have been at other programs where I have interviewed.

As I mentioned, Ithink tht this is a good program and I think that anyone who goes to RWJ for residency will get a very good education.
