From what I have seen it typically ranges from 47,000 to 55,000. Some programs pay more and some pay less. Based on the program. For the most part, the salaries i've seen are around 50,000 in primary care and a bit higher in other specialties. In big cities they are slightly more to make up for the higher cost of living, especially in NY. From 2004 numbers - avg resident salary is $55,300 (accross all years), intern year at 51,000.
