how long the HbsAb's effect will last? - fyuan

If A is a hepatitis B carrier, B is her husband and B was vaccined 5 years ago and his HBsAb was positive three years ago(have not checked recently). Does he need vaccine again? Or need he check blood regularly?

if he completed his series he does not need anything

If he is HBsAB + only it yell you that he was vaccinated previoulsy and does not need vacc again

so that means even if person says he has received HepB vaccine in past around 20 yrs back or 10 yrs back......u have to first check HBsAB.............and only if they r present u dont give them vaccine. right ?

or Once vaccinated means Lifelong Immunity ?

Hepatitis B Ab titres need to be monitored when ever a previously immunized person is exposed to new threat, or suppose you an IMG got your shots in your country some 5 years back and now entering in a residency program in this country where you are exposed to high risk ppls Hospitals will ask you to get your titres, because I believe the titres either wane by the process of time or you may not be properly vaccinated, either way get Ab titres and from there on you can decide either that person (in risk) needs only vaccine or both, vaccine or ivig.

I remember it seems pl may need a re-boost every 10 years. it is not lifelong immunity
