D cause staph aureus is the MCC of osteomyleitis... but if there would have been no staph aureus in the option then it would be salmonells as it is the MC org for osteomyelitis in sickle cell pt

It's C. Staph is the most common organism causing osteomyelitis, however salmonela are the most common organism (up to 70%) causing osteomyelytis in patients with SCD, Staph accounts only for less than 25%. UW has almost identical q. it's ID#1504 and in it's explanation objective they provide reference books.
