HTN in pregnancy - danille

35 yo primigravida comes to your office at 16 weeks' gestation. She is a new patient. She is excited about her new pregnancy and asks you to be her primary care physician who will deliver her baby. Her husband accompanies her to the visit and appears be highly supportive of the pregnancy.

Her medical history is unremarkable. Seh denies history of HTN although she as not had BP measured f0r 5 years. On PE, her BP after 5 minutes of rest is 160/100 mmHg. A repeat measurement 1 week later is 154/98 mmHg. Funduscopy is normal, and no other abnormalities are determined.

What's the most likely Dx. in this patient?
A. Preeclampsia
B. chronic HTN
C. Chronic HTN with superimposed preeclampsia
D. Transient HTN
E. labile HTN

The increase in BP tha appears before 20 weeks gestation is either Chronic HTN or Hydatifom mole.
