Urgent issue with ranking ...... important ! - fn1978
#1
I have both FM and IM programs to rank.
If I rank all IM first, will that affect in anyway the probability of my matching with FM programs.

Are there higher chances of matching with FM if I rank all FM first .....

Does ranking consider our first choice of speciality ?

pls let me know, anyone who is clear about this?

Rank in the order of your preference...

Rank IM then FM ....if you like IM more than FM......that will not affect the probability of your matching with FM programs.....i have the same situation ...do it and dont worry....

Best luck in the match...

The match algorithm is so simple and yet so hard to understand... Rank according to your preference. If you are highly ranked by your number 1 program you will match there. If not you might match with the second program on your list. And if not you might match with the third program on your list, and so on. If you put all your FM programs above all your IM programs, then of course you will have a higher chance of getting matched in FM. But you should rank the programs in order of preference. For example you might want to put IM at Harvard higher than your last-choice crappy ghetto FM program. But of course, it's your choice.
