i have been asked to attend an interview for a research post, if i can arrange for a visa. the post commences in March end. could anyone tell me how long it takes for ECFMG to issue/ process J1 research visa?

is it a research residency program?then ecfmg issue j1.otherwise your university or hospital or research center issue j1 visa for u not ecfmg

seems like this is not research residency but pure research as s/he said the program commences in March, so the program has to sponsor ur visa not the ECFMG, and that can take 2-3 months if not longer, better try next year or search for some other program, or best get a petticoat visa
