hi
what is the meaning of externship? what we have to do there? how can we get it? is it in private hospitals..or in residensy program hospitals? tahnks...

There r a few of them out there. One I interviewed in was at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD. U get hands on I believe, no pay and its really competitive. U also have to impress the heck out of ur resident/attending so they would give u a nice LOR. But I believe just having something like that in ur resume speaks volumes as to ur clinical experience.
There's also another thing that's out there. An FM residency program in Far Rockaway, NY that I heard was accepting MDs although they r a DO program. U don't get credit for the training because of u being an MD. USCE is good, ur worked to the bone, but u get paid. Better than an externship I guess. |
