Double-stranded DNA can be denatured by heating and renatured by cooling Renaturation under conditions of high stringency has which of the following effects?
o A) Considerable base mismatching is permitted
o B) GC base pairing is inhibited
o C) GT base pairing is promoted

well, dna renaturation is an imp step in southern blot or pcr. here a well characterized probe dna is added to a target molecule. the mixed samle is denatured and then renatured. when probe dna bind to the target dna sequence of sufficient complimentarity, its hybridization. i studied today, its in kaplan xenetics.

Answer is D
Since regeneration occurs under high stringency conditions ssDNA will only pair with exact complementary sequence hence mismatching is prevented.
