If a pt with fever and chills come to the ER what should we do regarding cultures?

should v order cultures while we are stabilising the patient and we havent even done physical examination?

or


should v send cultures after stabilising and doing physical for the patient.When at what step antibiotics should b started?

2 nd option.Antibiotic should be started after obtaining culture depend upon probable diagnosis.

only thing allowed before physical exam is stabilizing pt.. and any other test that can rule out some serious condition like ECG in chestpain...

ordering blood cultures do not change our management plan in this patient.. so order it after physical exam...
