how do u manage esophageal varices on CCS? can anyone tell me the inclusion of endoscopy,sclerotherapy,octreotide,do we have to repeat it if the bleeding did not stop?

wat about baloon tamponade? CCS software doesnt have option to chose it?

wat about TIPS?

i will be helpful if someone can tell me the whole procedure

here you go...step by step
octreotide---> endoscopy with sclerotherapy/band ligation---(fails)--> balloon tamponade and plan for TIPS---> discharge on propranolol

consider liver transplant .. check child's criteria...

u cannot chose Balloon tamponade or TIPS on CCS software..what to do?

if you cannot choose balloon tamponade and TIPS ..then this how far FSMB wants us to go with the management..
also band ligation is not available..only available option is sclerotherapy...
you go with what is available...

type "shunt" you'll get 2 options..
1. portocaval
2. splenorenal

type "sengstaaken" or "minnesota"..
you'll get your answer..
