Dear friends,

I have applied for the Greencard Lottery DV 2010.

Let us assume I could match in 2009 and I will need J1 visa and I had to start in July 2009 with residency.

And let us assume I would win a Greencard.

How would this work with the J1?

the green card procedure, if you do win, will certainly take up the whole of 2009 and a significant part of 2010... so focus on getting your J-1 you can always convert your status over time. Hope this helps
