ANS 333: Start Vanco and Genta and don't remove the cath. If patient became afebrile on Vanco and genta, erythema will disappear and repeat blood culture, if neg. just continue treatment, but if repeat blood culture shows growing bacteria then remove the catheter.
If in the question there is infection in the tunnel or discharge coming out of the tunnel- Remove the catheter.
