G6PD is an enzyme u wouldn,t want to forget ,

this one is the RATE LIMITING ENZYME of HMP shunt.

HMP yields

pentoses (ribose) for --nucleotide synthesis
NADPH------------------Reducing equivalent required to protect the cell from oxidant damage.

inheritance is X-linked recessive
