A 72-year-old skilled nursing care facility resident with dementia is brought to the emergency department 2 days after the onset of fever, confusion, and generalized weakness. B, a case of urosepsis.....causing septic shock ...after irrigation of his urinary catheter, which was not draining well

the answer is sepsis
it considered SIRS systemic inflammatory response syndrome
that include:
-Hypothermia Or Fever
-tachycardia tachypnea
-leukocytosis or leukopenia or bandemia
this was a q in UW but the case was sepsis 2ry to burn & what surprise me was that the patient wasnt feverish
anyway this was my guess as no time to search further Smile
