that was a very confusing concept that dr daughtry explained in his BS tapes.. he kept talking about that competency is something the JUDGE decides.. but in real life, we as physicians, base our actions (for example, NOT dialyzing this pt) on our own interpretations of the surrounding circumstances! so i just look at the ''competency'' term as a totally impractical one!!
