H4 to J1 - dipi

hi friends, i am on h4 ,& one of the programs told me that thye cant sponser me J1, is it true, that you cant get J1 if u r on H4, any input would be helpfull.

h-4 to J-1 will make your path to permanent residency very difficult. Has your spouse applied for permanent residency? It will all depend how long you have been on H-4. If you have spent a considerable time on H-4 (max limit is 6 years), you dont have any other option except to go on J visa except that if your spouse can provide you with EAD before starting residency.
