lets go pathophysology

Diastolic dysfunction---1.concentric hypertropy
2.normal to inc EF
3.Normal LVEDV
4.due to inc in afterload(HTN)
5.Atrial gallop(S4 sound)
6.Inc in LVEDP
7.duplicate in parallel
8.Hypertropic cardiomyopathy
9.inc in SV
10. wide PP

Systolic dysfunction---1.Eccentric hypertropy
2. Dec in EF
3.inc in LVEDV
4.due to inc in preload
5.Ventricular gallop(S3 sound)
6.Inc in LVEDP
7.duplicate in series
8. dilated cardiomyopathy
9.dec in SV
10. narrow PP.

based on the sounds/physiology/what u see echo/ rx can be induced...

use these points look at the pic in goljan rr page 161(2010) and interpret pls..will not miss a q..

thanks sodium for the answer, just want to add little more from UW test explanations.
Diastolic dysfunction is the result of decreased diastolic LV compliance which is equal to dV/dP , this can be due to restricitive cardiomyopathy (stiff muscle) caused by amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, met. cancer, inborn metabolic errors.
Systolic dysfunction is caused by dilated heart, infections, cardiotoxic drugs including alcohol, doxo.
