I have finished step 1 and cs and giving my step 2 ck in june
and in august my step 1 will expire ...
According to the 7 year rule for ECFMG certification ....if I finish with in 7 years step 1 cs and step2 ...I can get certified but will not be able to apply for licence in all states as step 3 is out of 7 years ...
Question 1) Shall I retake my step 1 which expires in august so that i can get certified after august and can apply for lincence in all states ...
Question 2) shall I get certified with the 7 year period and then request the medical board to allow me to take the first step while doing my residency ....as they say there is no guarantee that they will allow me to retake after i get certified ....
PLease adivice which is better option ...did the board allow to retake the exam ...for giving the lincence as they are strict to finish the step 3 also in 7 years perio
