a reseacher administered rabiolabled steroid in pregnant animal, then assays adrenal steroid in fetus, results shows increased DHEA in adrenal cortex. fetus adrenal have increased amount of DHEA(dyhydroepiandrostorone) because it lacks which enzyme

ans c, fetul adrenal cortex forms DHEA because it lacks 3 beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase so unable to form corticosteroid and mineralocorticoid from prenenolone.
DHEA further metabolized to form androgen and estrogen by placental tissue.
