Competition will never end, Once IMG always IMG - interviewplace
#1
Nothing to scare you or anything, just a reality of life of an IMG
1)- Mach rate around 40 %, expected to drop a bit due to steep up going curve of US born IMGs from Caribbean and other countries ( ref: ECFMG report)
2)- Even after completing residency, NEVER think you will be treated same as an US graduate, for fellowship position or Job. This will not get better even if you don't need visa. AMGs will always get the priority ( ref; Personal experience)

Those of you, who are still early in this process-- think again -- this is incredibly tough journey.
I think if you do the same amount of hard work any where in the world, you will get at least the same reward ( in terms of professional satisfaction, money etc) if not better.

Again not to discourage you, not to scare you -- just a reality.

An IMG
