Timing between application and test date - hopein13

Hi all,
If we want to do the test around Sep this year should we apply from now? Does it take long time to process the application and to schedule a date?

the application takes about a week or sometimes less

-You pay your exam fees
-you notarize identification form and submit it
-they give you exam permit
-you schedule your exam according to availability

i guess i should ve been more clear in my question: i know it depends on the city & state but generally will there still be an available date to schedule the exam in Sep if i applied late in Apr or May?

plenty of time. I scheduled my test in July to take in late August and had plenty dates to chose from.
