amazing explanation, so abnormal grief can be considered as depression with the only difference that was caused by a death of a loved one. wow

I can totally relate to your position right now. My exam is a few days after yours. Finding it really hard to stay calm and focus. Have to take my next nbme(and last) in a couple of hours and dreading it. So distracted, nervous and anxious.

Luckily UW also has Q which partly covers this topic.

Old lady loses her husband to lung cancer 3 m ago , lost 7 lbs , sleep disturbance , reminisces about him a lot and tear up on the mention of his name"

This is a classic pic of normal grief .

This Q also describes that normal grief is exactly like Major depression except the patient will never have anhedonia , worthlessness and suicidality .

I think with this UW Q and cardio's explanation we can easily answer the Q on this topic

I am an example of how anxiousness and being nervous can damage your score. Ive been studying for a while now, I'm scroring between 70-80% on uworld, i get to explain to other people, but when it comes to NBMEs or the real deal i just go blank. i called a specialist and told me a lot of students fail step 1 due to "performance anxiety". which is weird because i've always been a really chill person and never had anxiety before.

@cardio69 i did nbme 16 and got a 200, 2 weeks ago, i studied for 1 week expecting to keep going up, took 17 last week, when i was half way on my first block i just started feeling really bad and started throwing up (note: i woke up just fine) didn't marked any questions and couldn't even recognize an ectopic pregnancy...... after i review it i realized i was totally blocked... my score was 183.

I've been working on staying calm and study without having to worry, due to my job and visa status I'm not able to change my exam, at this point I'm just reading FA and praying....Ill be taking NBME 18 tomorrow, and will share how i do for more input and help from the amazing pleople in this forum.!
