So, I am an IMG, I have a canadian PR card, currently residing in Canada. Will be applying to US match.
How can I not lose the PR card while doing residency in the states ??

If I get a SoN (Statement of Need) from Canadian ministry of health, will that help me keep it ??

You should talk to a lawyer. I am sure there is a maximum period of time that they will let you live outside Can. A minimum period you need to stay after you return. There is limited time off during your residency as you known.
